Can someone load the app 'system information' and go to the display section and tell me what the resolution is? Mine says 1280x480p.... the video above is definitely not 480p. I've already ordered the unit from 4x4shop so it should be here thursday. Trying to return the aliexpress unit. Hoping that goes smoothly!

You are comparing what's in front of you to a video which can be deceiving. The only way to know for sure is to ask 4x4shop or if someone with the unit checks the settings because I think they are the same display on both as the 4x4 unit are also China made and usually it's the same product with different branding with anything from there.

I ordered the unit from 4x4 shop so it should be here on thursday so we'll see - in the mean time can someone with this unit install 'system information' and post a screen shot of the display resolution? There is no way the unit in the 4x4shop video is 480p... unless carplay runs in some other resolution? I don't have an iphone so I can only test android auto which works but it's still low res...

I don't use android auto anymore but when I hooked up my old android phone (which was on 6.1) it came up "low res", not adjusting to the wider screen. If you go into developer setting in the android auto app you can turn on the experimental 1080p resolution setting which may work. I just upgraded my old htcm8 to android Oreo (8.1) for the kicks of it because I was curios how the soon to be updated AA interface looks on it. The new AA upgrade does support wide screen resolution automatically if you've seen video of the new interface. How old is your android phone?

It's a Galaxy S10+ so it's brand new... I'll see about setting it to 1080p and report back. I'm going to have to return either the aliexpress unit or the 4x4shop one...

Is it still the old AA interface or the new one? Apparently the new one is supposed to come out soon according to this article:

I'm pretty sure the aliexpress and 4x4 unit are the same, you will get better support from 4x4 though....

There are a few apps u can install called "system info" and it will show u the stats of the system......

Try this and then go to the display section and take a picture of it... it should show the screen resolution.

I may end up just selling the ali express unit if anyone wants it? It would be much easier than shipping it back to china... let me know if anyone is interested!
