Smile Brake Replacement for 2014 IS350 F-Sport(RWD)

Hi All,
I wanted to get the front brake pads and rotors changed for my vehicle, any suggestions on which one to install would be appreciated. I have narrowed down the break pads to akebanos, lookiing for some good rotors.

Thanks in advance.

Akebono ASP’s not ACT’s and OEM rotors is what I recommend.

Good rotors are stock or blank type. I would recommend Lexus brand low-dust formula pads available for $55-60 shipped. (If the reason you are going Akebono is for low dust)

For me the Akebono ACT has reduced the brake dust by 75% compared to stock F-sport pads which was my biggest complaint about the stock pads. As you will read other brake threads, the initial grab is less on the ACT pads compared to stock, but I will take less initial grab over brake dust. Squeal at low speeds has also been eliminated.
The only other test I have for the ACT pads is longevity.

The Akebono ASP’s are a good compromise between Akebono ACT’s and stock OEM high friction high dust pads. They are only available for the front, you can use ACT’s for the rear.

I've found the ACT pads reduced my brake dust by 90+%. The small amount they make can almost completely be washed off with just a rince with a hose (definitely not something the F Sport dust would even budge from). I bought Sonax wheel cleaner and quick spray of that and my garden hose gets the remaining completely gone (no wash mit or anything).

I should have said at least 75% reduction. You know you have a brake dust problem when you want to wash your car due to dirty wheels. Now I was the car because the entire vehicle is dirty, not just the dark color painted wheels.

This is so true. I don't even think about the dust anymore. The car probably gets dirtier faster than the wheels do, so now they just get cleaned as part of the "process"...which is exactly how I wanted it to be!
