I just picked up my IS350F and noticed when I swapped the insurance to this car my 6 month premiums went up and was wondering who you guys were using and if you shopped rates. I’m 49 and no tickets or accidents and credit is above 800.
Any info is appreciated.
I plan on shopping around.

Depending on what car you had insured before you got your IS, I wouldn’t be surprised about your insurance going up. I stuck with my current insurance because I get heavy discounts due to being with them since I was 15 (same company but on my parents until 18) and combining other coverages so for me I don’t think anyone could beat out my insurance because when I tried once, the other companies were way higher. In general, shopping around is a really good idea because it doesn’t hurt to get an insurance quote possibly saving yourself a lot of money over time.

I had State Farm then went with Mercury and it dropped a ton. Also perfect record, excellent credit. No tickets, no accidents. And "older" LOL
It was funny to when I checked premiums with other companies like Progressive, Esurance, Allstate, AAA, the premiums varied wildly with different cars. I tried all kinds. The IS was way more expensive than a Lexus CT for example. And a brand new Honda Accord hybrid was cheaper than both.. like WAY cheaper. For some reason the Accord Hybrid is super cheap to insure. The IS... went way up... Mercedes C Class even higher.
I tried the same w/ Mercury and there was very little swing in premium. I even tried a brand new $100k Mercedes E63S and it was very affordable. Little swing. That could be just for ME though but just to give you an idea of what I experienced. Try Mercury. I hear Wawanesa is cheap too.. i haven't tried a quote w/ them.

I have Nationwide, and had it with my old 2015 Camry SE as well. My premium only went up by about $5 a month when I got my IS. So either the Camry was expensive to ensure for what it was, or the IS is cheap for what it is... ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Probably worth mentioning that I am doing both my homeowner's and car insurance through Nationwide, which means I get discounts on both.

And by the way... don't worry too much about "oh do they have good coverage" etc. All carriers use a standardized policy form and are regulated by the state they do business in. This means they are obligated to pay claims just as any company is and have to prove financial standing etc. What can vary is underwriting guidelines, premium, customer service, company culture etc. Usually i'd stick with the big guys though with a few exceptions i'm sure.

Had this saved and dont mind sharing it. 28 y/o guy with CA insurance through Geico. Driving since 15? or was it 16.. you get the idea. Clean record. Excellent Credit. Geico has a discount if you have 2 vehicles to your policy. Don't know if thats what all insurance companies do, but thought it important to bring up.
Policy Premium for 6 months: $799.50 for 2 vehicles. Here's the breakdown:
Bodily injury- 100k/300k - $174.50
Property damage - 100k per occurrence - $167.90
Medical Payment - 1k per person - $10.50
Uninsured/underinsured motorist - 100k/300k - $60.50
2015 Lexus IS350 FSport - Total ~$628.xx
Comprehensive - $1k deductible - $56.10

Hope this helped!
