Changed plugs on 2014 IS350
Was harder than I thought, had to cut some zip ties holding the ignition wires or whatever they are called on the driver side to get to the coils. 90,593 miles with stock plugs, I put 40,000 miles in the past 12 months so I figured it was time. I had to use 2 extensions, 3 if you count the one on the gear wrench spark plug socket to get the ones on the driver side because of everything in the way. I replaced them with the Denso 4705 plugs off ebay, hopefully they aren't fake, they were $40 for a set of 6. After everything was done I ran it WOT to 110mph on the back roads, seems to take a little longer to shift to 3rd gear but might be in my head. No codes, idle seemed normal and engine seemed a little quieter. Wondering if I should try to do the water pump and alternator myself with this many miles, no issues yet but they are probably on borrowed time with this many miles.
Stock plug removed
Replacement...lettering looks different, but it's a different model...

I'm curious about this zip ties you cut...shouldn't have needed to cut anything to get to the plugs.
If it's the ties that were holding down the wire harness, those can be released with cutting them.
As for the waterpump and alternator, only replace as necessary.
The alternator will last many more years, so no need to worry.
The waterpump you're better off checking at every service for signs of a leak...it's not gonna let go all of a sudden.
I get the impression that from your comment about the alternator and waterpump that your last vehicle or other vehicle is an american brand vehicle (GM, Chrysler, Ford). lol

Just did my plugs about a month ago and the clips come off with a needle nose plier by pressuring the clips. As for the plugs I am curious why you decided on not replacing them with the same denso part numbers. I paid 48 for mine with free shipping from Ebay. Did you unplug the battery for at least 15 minutes after installing the new plugs? It helps with the relearning of your driving with the new plugs.

I bought some Densos off Rock Auto with the same part number as our owner's manual. Do they have a good reputation for selling genuine parts? They shipped my spark plugs and the box was all scrunched up, I will never order from them again after that.

Rock Auto is pretty solid. Yeah they could have packed it better but they can’t control what the shipper does once they hand it over to them.
