Sunroof rattle

Where on the sunroof are you hearing it? I had a rattle in the map lights/sunroof switch area. The constant "tick tick tick" drove me nuts and took it in 2x, but they couldn't verify it (of course).
When I pushed on the map light panel it, it would stop for a bit. Also, with the shade open, I would squeeze the panel + the rubber sunroof shade trim, and it would also stop.
Recently, I popped off the panel, and put it back on...it stopped completely. I didn't do anything except pop it off and put it back. It's been rattle free for 6 months now. I should've done it a long time ago, but kept forgetting the pry tool and also was worried about breaking the panel tabs...found out it was way easier than I thought.

When I purchased my car, I had the similar rattling, opened the sunroof cover, the upholstered one, and the little black accordion side shields fell out. Thats what was causing the rattle. Brought it in, replaced under warranty and boom. problem solved.

My 2014 sunroof developed a rattle. I believe there's a TSB for it, but the fix did not help in my situation. The dealership received authorization from corporate to replace the entire sunroof under warranty, which solved the problem. As I understand it, there were slight changes made to the sunroof after MY14 to prevent this.

It comes from the back of the sunroof. It goes away when its open. It might be the rubber things cause they pop out of place occasionally. I'll ask a tech next time I'm at lexus

That happened to my '14 and I was so pleased that it had not happened to my '16...until yesterday. I am going to make an appointment and have it fixed. It is a nuisance and something Lexus should have fixed, but the dealer network likes the phrase, "no problem found" too much.
