Default F Sport Lowering Springs, Blue

Sorry if this has been posted before. I searched and didn't see a good answer. Are these whats on the F Sport package from the factory or are they upgrades to the regular F Sport package on the IS350? If they're an upgrade, will there be any drop compared to the stock AWD ride height? For those that put them on, did you notice a difference? Thanks!

The drop is about an inch or a little less. No your car did not get them from the factory.

Do they improve the handling at all? Does the ride suffer greatly?

Lexus claims it does with unique spring rates and lowered center of gravity. So yes you'll see an improvement. They're very conservative springs

From my experiences on lowering cars, aside from looks/aesthetics, conservative drops like the F-sport springs help lower the center of gravity of the car itself and therefore improves handling. Because you're somewhat lower to the ground, you may notice and feel a few more bumps when driving but honestly with such a conservative drop, it's really negligible.

Just make sure you get an alignment after you get the springs installed.

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I got quoted $1700+ For the spring, install and an alignment. Is it me or is that really expensive for springs that retail at $299?

At that price you could get some really good coilovers.

Unless KW or Bilstein makes coilovers for our cars, I do not think "Really good coilovers" exist for our cars. I've never seen any.

The most decently acceptable would be Tein. But that's barely acceptable.

$1700 is mega ridiculous.

The springs are $200 on eBay
Alignment $150 at most.
Install $250 at most.

That’s because you have very different ideas of what’s good and acceptable etc to others in case you haven’t noticed d:

I present to you... KW V3 Coilovers! https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...utoModClar=RWD

Edit:

Fun fact: Pretty sure Evasive Motorsports used these coilovers for their IS350 build for SEMA 2014 or something.

But if you want to go super fancy and exclusive, you can order Ohlins straight out of Japan, but those are BTO (built to order). http://ohlins.czj.jp/auto/Products/BTO/GSE31.html

^No idea the shipping for these, but I can imagine the total cost being quite high... Jus showing that the option is out there...

Who quoted you that $1700 price? Was it the Lexus dealership near you? I just ordered these here in Phoenix, and the dealership I ordered them from quoted me a price for install and alignment between $800-900. Plus I got them to price match what another dealership was selling them on eBay. Now, $900 is still a lot of money, but that $1700 outrageous.
