Default 2017+ black chrome/ black pear trim

Didnt feel like paying for the black pear emblem so I made my own, did the side trim with the same material to also give it a black chrome look, now it all matches the black chrome of the 2017+ spindle grill

Very nice, going to do the same for the black pearl stuff.

Was the x7 fin piece curved off eBay? Can't seem to find one that is straight.

yes off Ebay. The 7 fin needs to be cut to fit the 5 fin will fit but will not go all the way to the edge

Been circling back to this in my mind. Do you mind taking a picture of the car from about 10-15 ft away? Can't decide if I want to just do black wrap for the window trim to better match the b-pillar and dark tint or stick with black chrome like yours.

So it's not actually black chrome but more a smoke/gold? I have Atomic Silver as well, and while the chrome doesn't quite work with it I don't want that full-blackout look on the trim either.

Looks very clean. I've been wanting to do this as well.

How did you do the front and back emblems? Did you need to remove them? Does the front tint affect the radar at all? I noticed on the pre-cut front tints online, it says "not for PCS/radar".

whether he claims it affected functionality or not, tinting the front emblem is not a good idea. Even just for warranty purposes; if that sensor goes bad you’re paying for a new one and any diagnosis related to it because you made a hardware modifications to a piece of technology related to drivability.

FYI - The sensor is actually not attached to the emblem. It’s mounted behind it on a separate bracket. So tinting the emblem wouldn’t actually be modifying any hardware. It would possibly affect the sensitivity of the radar because it would be adding another layer to have to penetrate.

The PCS emblem differs from the non-PCS version (14-16 MY) by having additional pieces of support plastic. The PCS emblem is smooth.

No issue, car just same back from service yesterday and they said they have no issue since the sensor is actually behind the emblem, as long as there is nothing solid blocking the embelm.

typically I would agree but your wrong in this scenario, I have clear bra the other without issue, this "tint" is many 50 or 70 light transparency. Service advisor said no issue with what I have done.

True, I had my advisor run a diagnostics on the sensor to make sure it did not have any negative effects and it came back normal. In the end ita just a film and can be easily removed.
