Lol, bit of both
For the most part, the second leg of my trip was uneventful. Disappointed in the Meteor landmark, but maybe special effects in movies has ruined my appreciation for natural events. The tape is starting to loosen up, but I think it’ll survive till I arrive on Wednesday. Happy to know the car is capable of ~32mpg despite the numerous hills and valleys. Glad I’m finally in Amarillo. Zzzzzz
Leaving Flagstaff, AZ
Gotta show the RR logo
If you like meteors... check it out, otherwise jus keep on driving
Border between AZ and NM
This trip, sponsored by Marriott... love the view from my room. Arrived in Amarillo, TX. Next stop Conway, AR

Third part of the trip was more aggressive than the first two. The boredom of cruising on eco mode got to me, mpg suffered to 28mph which isn’t bad tho. Played around with a E39 525i so that was good company. Before that tho, there were a ton of cops, prolly trying to reach their monthly quota. No real place to take pictures along I-40, it’s jus prairies and trees for as far as the eye can see. Will finally reach Georgia tomorrow...
Which do you like more, love’s travel stops?
Or Pilot/Flying J? I personally like Pilot.
At Marriott in Conway, AR
Not used to seeing gas prices this low. Premium is less than the regular in Cali’
^Reppin NDF!

It sucks that you're traveling alone (I assume you are).
If you're heading south from Memphis - you can probably expect a few cops in Alabama.
Have a safe final leg of your trip.

And thank you, the drive has honestly gone by super fast and smooth.

Traveling solo like that can be really exciting but also boring. When I drove from south Georgia up to KC for the first time, it was about an 18 hour trip. It was actually not bad because I was so excited to go somewhere new and anxious about my first job out of college.
That premium gas price looks about the same, maybe slightly more, than what I paid last week.

Yeah, traveling solo. It’s not as painful as I feared it would be. Helps having a fun car! This car also gets a lot of people’s attention, so I get a kick out of that. And thanks for the tip. As soon as I entered Arkansas it’s been nothing but cops. What makes it worse is that they’re all painted black - not used to seeing that in Cali.

@EZZ is right. Nebraska is literally nothing but corn. Passed through that way years ago with my family. Fell asleep looking at corn. An hour later, I woke up, looked outside to still see nothing but corn. Mind was blown.
@doodlebug thanks for the heads up. I ended up passing through Memphis and Birmingham and all the way through, nothing but cops. I’ve never seen so many cops. I guess they’re trying to meet their quota for the month or something?
Anyway, finally arrived to my final destination of Atlanta, GA. Was greeted warmly with the open arms of rush hour traffic. Didn’t take any pictures as I was too tired and literally jus wanted to be done with driving.
It’s over! 2200 miles... jus like that.

Finally taking off the tape. The lower part did suffer some rock chip damage, but not as terrible as I had feared. SO glad I taped what I did though.
I hate rock chips =p

Many of the cars I passed along I-40 didn’t have a front plate. But even back in Cali, I went no front plate from the day I got it up to now (literally been 1 year and a month). Last time I got pulled over for no front plate was 2009-10 and that’s when I was driving my Camry. Jus got a fixit ticket back then.

oh yeah. i've been running no plate ever since i started driving. as long as you don't do a-hole stuff, you should be fine. it's usually an add-on citation for other stuff like exhausting around or bro'ing around.
i did get a no plate ticket when i was younger while parked along the street though. lol. that was a first..
