Tab on the leather boot, it is facing you. Push and pull down, then twist the **** off

Push down on the boot cover until it disconnects from the shift ****, you should see the metal of the shifter at this point. Then just twist off the ****.

Just below where the **** meets the boot, grab with two fingers and push down, may take a bit of force. then twist off the **** once the boot is disconnected, like evltwn said, you should see metal by then.
