2015 IS 250 — anything to look out for?
Hey all!
I'll be test-driving a 2015 IS 250 with 32,xxx miles later today, really stoked for it. The dealership is listing it for $22.5K, but from reading a few threads around there, they're worth a bit less than that. My lease is expiring soon on my GTI and I've been looking into used luxury cars to replace and essentially own for the next 5+ years.
Any comments, complaints, stories, things to look out for or be aware of, etc., would be awesome. Thanks!

I have been completely pleased with my '14 IS250 - great combination of luxury, style, and dependability - not one issue so far. Everyone loves to criticize the smaller engine as underpowered, but it suits me fine - nice and smooth and 35mpg on the highway too.

I have 42k and my car has been an absolute dream to own. Not one hiccup ever. My car has been nothing but great to me and I’m not worried about this thing at all . I paid much more for mine new, and I still haven’t regret buying the car once . Good luck

If you're talking about reliability, you will do great.
Some people will add their "gripes" into what the 250 may or may not have, whether it be 'underpowered', or whatever else.
I personally love the styling, the handling and just about everything else. The brake wear is a tad quick, but you can always swap the pads out for some Akebonos or some decent ceramic pads and you'll do just fine.
Also, keep mind of the sunroof track, the accordion looking trim pieces, I had to get mince replaced twice under warranty for popping out of place, it's purely a cosmetic thing, but just wanted to bring that up.
Enjoy the car!

My recommendations:
a. If the engine doesnt feel feel powerful enough, wait a bit and find a 2016 IS 200t instead. It shouldn’t be a dramatic price different between the two.
b. It is worth waiting for an IS that has cooled seats. I’ll never buy another car without them.
c. Generally, make sure the paint and interior combinations are your #1 choices if you’re buying a car over $20k. You’ll have the car for a while and you don’t want to see other IS driving around in the color you really wanted. The IS isn’t a rare car and you’ll find the combo you want eventually.
d. If you want an F Sport with the gauges, the standard ventilated seats, the grille and all that, don’t get a standard IS. You’ll regret it every time you see an F Sport.
e. Get one without the navigation system. The standard infotainment is almost as easy to use as any other manufacturer. The navigation isn’t as precise and requires a learning curve.
