Actually, I remember somewhere in our manual that there actually is a break in period. It says don't keep the engine at the same rpm or speeds for an extended time. I forget what else it said but it is written somewhere in our manual. I wish I had sport+. Don't know if sport for my is 300 makes a difference from normal mode driving.

Here's what it says for MY 2016:

■ Breaking in your new Lexus

To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:

● For the first 186 miles (300 km):
Avoid sudden stops.

● For the first 621 miles (1000 km):

• Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration.
• Do not drive continuously in low gears.
• Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods.

While there is a break-in procedure, Lexus says it is optional on any new Lexus.

https://lexus2.custhelp.com/app/answ...k-in-period%3F

The engine of your new Lexus vehicle is made with industry-leading precision and quality. As a result, the break-in procedures listed in the Owner's Manual for a brand-new Lexus are optional
And not an IS driver but I do this all the time - I normally end up driving around in Eco for a while and when I switch to Sport S+. it blows my mind away at how different of a car it can become on the fly!
