Default Noise when getting into seat

Well, we have "snap" and "pop" noise threads......

Reminded me, when I get in and sit (2017 IS300 AWD Fsport), I get kind of a "grunt" noise from under the car.
I think this came up before in another thread.......brakes?

I used to get that. Its the parking brake. Parking breaks are always drums. The solution is to always put the car into park first, make sure it is fully engaged, then put the parking break on.

Thanks, but I don't use the parking brake in the garage.
I failed to mention that I hear it in the garage, where the acoustics probably make it more noticeable.

Could be suspension settling under weight added, as long as not hearing it while driving.

Always use the parking break, helps the parking gear (really just a pawl that drops into the gears of the transmission) last longer. Could also help the groaning as the car may be moving a little when you first get in.

Damn you’re light lol. I use the E-brake at all times because I don’t like putting stress on the parking gear. That’s just me, but that could be the cause of the noise. I would have said maybe suspension if your car was a 2014 lol.

Thanks dudes. I will start using that parking brake.
With my other cars I would forget to take it off.
