I have noticed that the Battery level display does't appear from the display bottom - some kind of a gap .
Maybe I'm confused , Maybe Iv'e change preferences somewhere . Is it ok ? pls see photo ?

If I had to guess, the icon representing the battery is attempting to be 2D/3D...so what you're looking at is the side of the battery...what you identified as the gap with the red arrows.
If you look at the Engine and Wheel icons, they are also attempting to be 2D/3D as well.

I would think your battery icon is fine.
Based on your 6 bars it would be approx. 75% charged.
