For those interested, it does look like the torque converter locks and unlocks at 3rd gear, causing the harsher shifts.

Yeah it does look like that.
Makes sense with the way it behaves.

Any results from switching up the gas?

Nope. I still feel the jerk and it still seems excessive to me.
I also just got my boost regulator replaced but am still knocking quite a bit. I’m wondering if the ECU may be relearning, but it is quite nerve wracking seeing so much knock occurring.
