Factory Amp Replacement Options

Factory Amp Replacement Options
I'm pretty sure I have a busted audio amp thanks to the rain. *Ranting* kind of ridiculous this is such a common problem, especially for a Toyota/Lexus. I have only 45k miles and seems like something that should never be an issue.
Anyhow does anyone have any suggestions for a good site to buy from? The model number is 86280-53190 but I don't even see any of eBay. I do see some that are 53180. Anyone know if they are compatible with each other?
Also, if I have to fork over $800+, is there an aftermarket option in that price range that will allow me to keep the stock functions?
Just wanted to see if anyone had a good ideas.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Decided to go after market for $100 cheaper with PAC AP4-TY12 and JL XD600/6v2.

The amp was a tad moist when I pulled it out but wasn't a leak I could tell or like a pool. I think because of its location to the air vent, it probably just absorbed too much moisture.
I mine as well check with my insurance company but I doubt it'll be worth the deductible for me.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, the drainage holes plugged up (convertible) so the trunk got wet, amp was with the battery in the trunk cavity where water ran into. Had to cover fixing the drains but insurance covered the amp, minus deductible of course. Like most factory stuff, it was something like $800-900 from BMW as well.

i'd either do a stock ebay replacement or DIY build my own setup. you're going to have to figure out of the headunit has a built in crossover, because if it does (and i suspect it does) your amp may not sound right because the signals are filtered. But it wouldn't hurt to try a sub $100 amp.

Thanks for the info E46.
I would probably go the factory replacement route if it wasn't $800+ for no upgrade.
I'll look into the idea of an aftermarket amp. Guess it could be cheaper and better sounding, just sounds like a PITA to setup.

It won't be too bad. your input and output harnesses are laying right there in the trunk. it just sucks that Lexus doesn't run the battery in the trunk like BMW does.
But on my CT200, the battery is in the trunk (in the back) go figure...

After some research and speaking to Crutchfield, I decided to go aftermarket.
In case anyone else has the same problem and figures they want to upgrade, the PAC Ap4-TY12 is a good way to bypass the stock amp.
about $250
Then you need a 6 channel amp. I'm going JL Audio XD600/6v2 for $500. Also mentioned here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...spec-info.html
This option is still cheaper than the stock replacement by easily $100 and will be an upgrade. Sure I'll have to deal with install and all, but it feels like less of a waste. It will be a significant upgrade over stock.
