Default Small Scratch - Driver Door

I just purchased a 2019 IS 350 (black interior) and noticed a small 3” scratch on the driver side door panel (leather), right about the door handle. I wasn’t sure if this was done by me or when I picked up the car, which was at night. It’s not deep, almost like a scuff mark. Tried some leather conditioner to see if that would help, no success. I’m assuming it’s leather but I could be wrong.

Any help or recommendations are welcome and appreciated. Just joined the Lexus family.

microfiber, finger, water. could be a physical scuff where conditioner will just hide it. try rubbing the scratch smooth to blend its appearance.

As disturbing as it sounds, I did lick my finger and tried buffing it out. It disappears for a second and comes back.

I’ll try try the water and microfiber idea. Thank you for the idea.

Not disturbing at all. try fingernail (gently) Did you get leather package or does it come with Nuluxe (vinyl) I thought all ISs were vinyl? i forgot. My IS has been pretty resilient to scratches on the interior. i think leather may be more sensitive.

Sorry for the delayed response. I had to look up the interior specs just to be sure. Looks like I have the Black NuLuxe®* with Dark Gray Streamline trim. So that answers the vinyl question. Does that alter your recommendation getting rid of that scratch? I apologize for my lack of car knowledge. But on a good note, the car is pretty awesome.

They have since removed the option for leather - OP's car is a 2019, so it would have Nuluxe.

I wanted to provide an update. I used a magic eraser on the scratch and it’s gone. Confirmed in the daylight today.

Thanks for all the replies from everyone.

Be careful with the Magic Eraser. They can be abrasive.
Personally, I only use microfiber, interior and exterior.

yeah if you use magic eraser on vinyl, be gentle. it's basically sandpaper. test in small area first perhaps.

Thanks for the feedback. All is well with a tiny texture change, nothing big.
