Default Rev limit confirmed!

I have personally confirmed Rev limiter in manual mode and traction control disabled. It is around 6800rpm, redline as you know is 6600... Ecu tune gives you a redline of 7200-7400 so I知 assuming no damage was done...I did not do it on purpose.
I see a lot of debate on YouTube videos and forums about manual mode in a 3is... now I only have the 6 speed cuz I知 awd so I don稚 know about 8 speed on rear wheel drive, but in manual mode, with traction control off, car will NOT shift and you will bounce of rev limiter. Does anyone know the exact rpm? Most manufacturers list fuel cut off or rev limiter but I can稚 find anything official from Toyota on it? Can someone find it? I知 curious what the exact rpm is.

I assume you have a 2018 or newer?

In the 2017 or older (with the 2GR-FSE), the redline as indicated on the tach appears to be 6600. However, in automatic mode, it will shift at 6500 or earlier, and sometimes as early as 6200. I've only had it hit the limiter in automatic mode once, and I think it was a fluke. In manual mode, the limiter is clearly at 6600, and it's more obvious if you turn TC off. Now, as far as the engine's "exact" redline, who knows? I think what matters is the limiter. The redline is really something that is set by the manufacturer based on what they think the engine can handle.

This info is just from my own experience and messing around.

I made a video testing out the differences in 0-60 between D and M modes, which clearly shows the difference in shift points.

Sadly I don't think it actually goes all the way to rev limiter, since I tried to actually get a decent time. Banging off the limiter is slow.

For reference, pretty clear pic showing the indicated redline of 6600:

no I have a 2015 350 awd fsport. Same color as yours. Nice video to.
In automatic it shifts, assuming full throttle at redline, 6600 rpm.. I knocked her into manual mode today and didn稚 notice, went full throttle and banged the rev limiter, it was about half an inch in the red, around 6800 rpm.. what I don稚 get is why there痴 no source that states clearly, a 2015 is350 has a rev limiter of xxxx rpm.. on my old car redline was 6700, but rev limiter was set higher at 7000 so you could rev it slightly passed redline. Almost every engine has the info available, redline vs rev limiter, but for a 2gr-fse I can稚 find it. Theoretically, if you timed your shifts perfectly and could shift just a hair before rev limiter it would be quicker (by milliseconds obviously not a huge amount) than being in automatic mode?
ive seen the dyno痴 on tuned 2GR-FSE痴 and they can rev safely to 7200 rpm and make more power. Some say 7400 but you risk valve float.

My car shifts at 60mph at the very end of 2nd gear, tuned 2nd gear holds till 67mph, that痴 pretty sick.
again assuming 6 speed, don稚 know about 8 speed.
