How was the drive compared to our 3IS? specifically the handling?

Supra. Don't like convertibles, and never been a fan of the Z4 in the past. Both are underwhelming though.

My drive was kind of short but 3 series feels more planted compared to current gen IS less body rolls when turning. It feels more like 3IS in S+ mode.

Looks like this topic is being revived in good ol' Car Chat: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...aight-six.html

Still not seeing anything definitive saying this will happen, so I'm not holding my breath.

Acura is working on the 2020 TLX Type S. Here, Acura engineers are benchmarking C43 and S4. Will Lexus be answering with BMW power?! Or Lexus--what is your answer to this new beast from Japan? Remember this is not meant to compete with C63/M4 type cars. This is one tier below, but also one tier above the usual top bigger engine-variants.

packing serious quads.

You pay this much and you want 400-500HP , when they cranks to 400-500HP you say why expensive why my car eats too much gas, bad mpg etc. You want everything in the car and make it so heavy and you want the Car to Go Fast ? you want SUPER HANDLING and you don't wanna pay. AMG C43/63 ? M2/M3 ? Audi Sline ? there are Lexus ISF RCF GSF LC500 !

My friend just bought a 2019 Mercedes GLC AMG C43, Mid-Night package Sonic Blue +AMG Exhaust total = $96,000 Thousands CND Dollars, you have to test drive both cars to say which one has better handling in Normal Mode S-mode, a guy that never drove a Lexus IS350 Fsport or an RC-F says Audi BMW Mercedes got better handling ! a faster car doesn't mean its a good car and LExus meant o be Reliable Luxurious and Smooth ! you want Speed ? there Mustang GT AMG C63 M4 M5 Sline RCF LC500 Nissan GTR. Don't imagine because me and my friend compared his AMG C43 with my IS350 Fsport, we did not feel the different. He said he feels the same with his old Infiniti G35 in Normal Mode.

I mean yeah, the straight-line speed aspect is overrated. It's easy fun, but what you really want is a good road with fun turns. That's where any car is most fun. And heck, I was keeping up with my friend's 335i on the back roads this weekend just fine, even though the BMW is notably quicker in a straight line. To be fair he did have the stock summer RF tires on, but still. I still like the engine in that car.

Arentz07, have you test driven the G70 3.3 yet? I heard you mentioned it before as a potential replacement. The reviews I am seeing is making a compelling case, just need to go test drive one soon. It looks like the logical upgrade for us 3IS drivers, it's what the IS should be. It has all the things most of us wish the 3IS had. Power, good infotainment, greal value etc etc and can hold its own against the Infiniti Red Sport and 340i and is also a better drivers car than both of them, at least when compared to the F30 340I.

No, I haven't gotten around to driving that yet. We'll see in a few months when I actually start shopping. Haven't seen any G70s in the wild here yet.

Genesis make what sounds like an impressive car, hopefully this weekend i can go test drive after I do the 330I Msport. Only downside to the Genesis is that the lease numbers are poor. Hopefully by August when my lease ends the leases gets better, if not 330I Msport for me. With the bimmer i do get some discounts thru my employer, and no I don't work for BMW lol.

Let us know what you think of the G70.

I was going to go with the Stinger as the G70 was a touch too small for my needs. I loved driving the Stinger and the G70 should be even better. That 3.3TT is a fantastic engine.

Is it just me? But when I first saw the rear end of the new 3 series, I thought it looks like a Lexus. Specifically those taillights.

I like the TLX... but it's at the end of its lifecycle. Or damn near it. I just hate the interior. The car is clearly a generation behind in terms of design. But I'm glad Acura is getting back into the game with the Type S and twin turbo V6s that WON'T be shared with Honda. Acura has been dead for a good 15 years.

Seriously, Acura... what's up with this TLX center stack? Looks like a cartoon car. Fischer-Price. My first interior? The dashboard reminds me of a dried-out football that's been left in the sun for 200 years. A rental Chrysler from 20 years ago. All Acuras share this design.

Again on the interiors... I remember as a kid.. Acuras in the late 90s. Damn. Some of the best interiors in the business. Take a look at the 1st gen TL interior from 1999:

What a great car. I remember the exitcement. The salesman flooring the gas. In 1999 this car was a rocketship.

Anyway.. then starting with the RSX, they went downhill. Started to become really cheap, angular, hard materials. Even the new NSX looks very poor inside. Saw one in person. Looked Civic-grade. The double hump design is ugly too. I hope Acura starts over with their direction in interior design. The TLX exterior looks pretty good though. Probably the only Acura I'd buy today despite the interior. But it would be really tough.

I hope the next TLX has a really really strong showing. Acura needs it.

With few exceptions, BMWs are a very boring car to look at. Can say the same about Audi.
I used to love their design in the 90s and now they just look worse and worse.

The Supra at least has some Toyota styling to...looks like the Z4 a little but Toyo design is in there! lol
