Default 2017 Lexus IS200t - Purchase Advice!

Hi everyone!

Hoping to get some advice from you all regarding a 2017 Lexus IS purchase! I’ll post the details below:

2017 Lexus IS200t (F-Sport)
- 12K miles
- $30.5K
- 1 owner (Leased in Florida)
- 6K miles per year
- Sold at auction and brought to another state/dealer

The car is being sold at a Nissan dealer so I have requested to take the car to a Lexus dealer and do a pre-purchase inspection. Anyone have any idea how much this costs btw?

I’m also trading in a 2013 INFINITI G37xS which is being valued at $11.4K

Any advice regarding the purchase/pricing will be great!

Thank you everyone!

I came from a G35 and you'll be downgrading significantly in horsepower with the 200T. I think the IS350s are now in the $30k price range with 10-15k miles on them. Power is comparable with your G37 so you should test drive them both and see how you feel.

I went from a G37S to a 300 RWD (200t) and I’ve been fine. Lol

I had a 200T for a couple days and missed the horsepower quite a bit. The lag also killed it for me

It’s personal preference, but if I wanted horsepower I would have gotten something with closer to 400 HP, not 310 lol.

I don't need that much hp. I prefer a lag less experience in my engine though.

Definitely lag with this engine, but it’s only like a second.

A second? Oof.

I haven't driven a 200T/300 RWD but have driven an NX 300 with the same engine. It feels peppy enough. I only noticed the turbo lag when I decided to test out the acceleration on an on-ramp. In more tame driving it seemed fine.

There's lag at times but it's minimal. I did have a little more lag on my 200t compared to the new 300. But it's still not as much as other new cars with turbo engines. My wife used to have a Hyundai and wow, the lag was horrible. The car would stay still for about 2-3 seconds and then go. Especially on-ramp.

The lag is mostly only when you’re at a dead stop. If you’re in motion, the boost is pretty much instant.

Just got 2016 IS200t with 24K miles for $26K before tax and license for my son last week. L-Certified, No Nav.
I like the lag and less power. It's perfect for my son. I can sleep soundly at night or day when he is out and about.
