This is what I mean (by color). Not "Corolla"'matte, but satin.

I did satin black on mine since the car was black, but I can see how gloss would be better on any other color.

And not all gloss is created equal. i tried 3m Gloss. terrible. looks like a garbage bag pulled over your trim.

i used vvivid gloss black

it's extremely glossy. particularly over rounded surfaces like mirrors.
Thanks for this post. I purchased a sample of the 3M Gloss and the vvivid. You are very correct!

Not to hate on 3M, but holding both up to a flash light the 3M almost had a brownish hue, and the vvivid was a deep deep black. I am for sure going with vvivid.

was it 3m 1080 gloss black? Mine is black black and Is think enough its probably hold a couple hundred pounds before breaking through. Excerpts it's almost brittle which is not good

Is the vivid more pliable? Less think?
Thinking about scrapping my 3M for vivid if it's easier to work

What size did you go with and how much did you buy? I'd like to try this myself

I'm not sure exactly what 3M gloss black it was. My local wrap shop was wrapping a car with it and I grabbed some of their scrap to compare it to the vvivid. I only paid about $10 for the sample from amazon, I recommend doing the same if you are thinking about it.

Right on thanks, it's about $17 for all materials needed so I'll probably just get that to compare.
