Puddle lights won't come on anymore
#16
It was somewhere toward the end of the manual in the customization section, where you can set the default settings of things like interior lights and such. There were two columns for the puddle lights - one for available as a customizable setting in the car's settings and the other column denoting a dealer programmable setting. Specific for the puddle lights, it indicated it was not available to self-customize and it showed that the dealer could program this setting.

Here's a link to the 2018 owner's manual: https://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/d...f/OM53E34U.pdf
Look at page 618 of that PDF and look at the last two entries of that table labeled "Illumination." Column 1 are settings you can change using the Remote Touch by the driver and Column 2 supposedly shows settings that can only be changed by the dealer.

^ Yup, brand new. I'll check again, but I'm pretty sure the outer puddle lights don't turn on as I approach.
If anything, I have my 1 year complimentary maintenance coming up... I'll have them do that, update the ECU for that service campaign about the rear O2 sensors, and have them program this at the same time.

It's a bit of a pain, but not really complex. You just gotta be careful not to break the actual mirror when you remove it. Putting the pieces back together can also be a bit annoying.

My puddle lights did originally turn on when I approached or unlocked the car. So I know it worked before. I did just bring it in for the ECU recall last week but I forgot to have them check the settings. I still haven't pulled the mirrors apart to check the bulbs themselves yet - been too busy and still too cold in MI for me to bother with it.

Also, using the remote touch and menu, I went to the customization settings again to ensure I wasn't missing something. There was no setting to change for the puddle lights, except settings to update the time the interior lights stay on (default was 15 sec).
So... I'm guessing either the puddle lights are burnt out, which I highly doubt considering the car is new, or the setting for some reason was defaulted to 'off' and would need a dealer to program it to turn on.
