I am using an Escort Max360 with the Blendmount and mirrortap setup. Really love this because I get no false alarms and the arrows really help. The Uniden R3 has better range though.

Man, since my X50 blue started acting up I haven't even used one in years. I'd like to have a new one for sure though.

So far few people have mentioned the Escort Max. I have been using WAZE as here in the east coast a lot of people post where the police are but that still didn't seem to help me lol.

I would highly recommend the Uniden R3 that thing is a beast. I was running the Escort Max 2 before I left the states. Escort Max 360 or Uniden R3 can't go wrong with either, but Uniden R3 seems better IMO.

Was running the STI Magnum for years. Was too noisy with BSM. Currently running the Uniden R3. Excellent detector.

So it seems Uniden R3 is the one to go.

Just a few questions:

Do you guys get a lot of false alerts?
How accurate is the laser detector?

I have the Uniden R3 and the range is awesome. If you need to have K band turned on, then most of the falses would come from Hondas and Acuras. I usually just leave me K band off since the CHP here only uses KA.

^^ True statement regarding Hondas/Acuras. I have to leave my K on so I live with it.

I can't speak to the laser detection, it must not be used here.

No radar detector is any good with laser. If your radar detector goes off for laser (they have a little laser diode on the top side of the radar detector usually) then they already got your speed and you’re screwed lol. You’d have to get a legit laser jammer system which is pretty damn pricey and technically sorta illegal, but you can do your research on that one.

I'm using the Uniden R3, and that thing is a beast. Living in Northern California, the default settings cause way too many false positives, but with the right settings, I get virtually no false positives at all.

I would suggest the R7 however, as the added features look good. Based on the reviews/testing, seems like the R7 is performing even better than the R3.
