I bought a used Lexus Is300h and it has simple LCD system without a navigation system, in other models I see a nicer screen with many more features, is there a software update or anyway to make it better. Or maybe is there a way to add a carplay for that model?

My 2017 IS200t didn't even come with navigation system.

I actually don't miss that it's not there as the base infotainment system with animations disabled does all I need it to do. Connect phone by bluetooth, play my music, play Google maps navigation if I even need it.

Adding Apple CarPlay or Android Auto would require replacing the head unit, at minimum from what I've seen.

Edit: There's another option via Beatsonic, not sure how reliable it is, but it appears to straight mirror your phone to the screen.
