Looking for some mechanical help 2014 is250 fsport
Hey guys, as much as this hurts to think of posting this I'm hoping to see If i can find the answer here after hours of googling. Going to try keep this short. I have this customer/cousin who sadly has been in an accident in his is250. The car overturned not completely but to its side, where the driver side is towards the floor and passenger is looking up. He told me the vehicle did not shut off on its own but that he turned it off soon right after. I'm doing him the favor and helping him with the body damage in an auto body. Only issue now is that the car wont start. It does, i guess a quick crank but stops right away. Not sure if it set a fuse/relay off, starter or if a safety mechanism was set off.
[ lets say a regular start sound is "cheeefff cheeefff cheeefff - car is on, idling"]
Its hard to explain the sound over the internet without video but once i push the push to start button "cheeefff" and it stays off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you guys. Bless

It sounds like from your description that the engine makes a revolution, or tries to, and then stops. Is that about right?
If that's the case then all the fuses to make it crank, Smart Key system, and ECU should be fine.
Some basic checks:
1. Whats the battery voltage? Should be at least 12V's...if not more
2. What's the oil level?
3. If you pull a couple of the spark plugs that are easy to get to, are they wet? Particularly on the drivers side
My first thoughts are low battery voltage or a hyrdrolocked engine (because you said it was running on it's side...who knows where the oil could have gone)

Sorry, haven’t replied back been busy getting the car done. Everything been fixed cosmetically. I was wondering I was told it was the starter went bad, someone came and ran some test. If worst case scenario it is not the starter. When a motor hydrolocks like you said that means the motor is done like r.i.p?
the motor was not on for long long just a few seconds/a min on its side. i turned it off as soon as i finished putting it in park.
thanks again for the help 🙏🏽

If the engine hydrolocked it will usually bend the connecting rods of the piston...if it isn't that bad.
The vehicle would/should still start, but may idle crappy and you'd hear a terrible knocking from the engine.

oh wow well that is nice. Hoping that is not the case 🙏🏽. There clear way to tell if the motor hydrolocked?... and side note I did notice however today the crossmember is bent. I’m here looking for a replacement. Looking around the web see some that say a 2011 would fit a 2014-16 or vise versa. 2011-2016 do you if the years are interchangeable
