Default Strange tire pressure issue

Hi everyone. For some reason my back left tire is showing 28 pounds. It’s first started on Friday and I went to the tire center. They checked the tire and put it in the water. No leaking or nails whatsoever. They put the tire back on and it was fine for a few things. Now it’s low again.

Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas? Thanks.

Could be a dirty bead seat. Back in the day (10 years or so ago) I'd bring my wheels inside the house and take a dremel and polish the bead seat. mirror finish shine! medical grade clean! Tire has to be partially removed for access. Tons of rubber and debris gets baked into the bead after years of use.

Thanks. My car is rather filthy. Maybe that’s why?

The same thing happened six months earlier with my right front tire. The tire place took it off did the whole testing and put it back on. Hasn’t been a problem since. Should I just asked the tire place here to clean the wheel before putting the tire back on?

It really depends what kind of tire shop you go to.. some of them (club stores such as Sam's Club) don't give a f*** about stuff like that and no absolutely nothing. It's 100% leaking and you need to find a proper tire shop to find the leak. Could also be the actual TPMS leaking if not installed on the tire properly, regardless, it's their job to find it, not yours

Thanks for the advice. Turned out to be a prior nail plug that was leaking about 1.5” from the sidewall. The shop re-plugged it. Hopefully it will suffice as the tire itself is gently worn.

Guess the first time the guy didn't inspect it thoroughly! When I went in yesterday, another gentleman was working on it and showed me the plug bubbling. Just seemed odd because I never had a plug fail on me before.
