Have a 16, factory nav, not a ML stereo.

Really wanting Apple Car play.

From what I can tell I have 2 options.

Get the 10.25" android unit from 4x4shop.ca or get the Beat-Sonic Car play adapter...

Any thoughts or suggestions? Any options I am missing?

 

edit: i just did a quick google, looks like the headunit has wireless apple car play, i would just the head unit, it looks so much nicer.. beat sonic car play adapter you have to have your phone connected the whole time for it to work.. paired with the low res screen, on top of that you would need to have your phone in landscape mode to take proper effect of the whole screen.. IMO its an L

 

You don’t need to be landscape mode for CarPlay. I think you’re confusing with phone mirroring.

This is interesting I've never heard of this where did you see this description? I was just looking at beatsonic I'm not seeing it. Even their YT demo video they had it connected in portrait orientation. It is definitely not phone mirroring. They sell two separate kits for different purpose.

Oh wow, I didn't even know they had a car play kit, I apologize. But $600..? Might as well get the head unit still.. mandatory wired connection for car play as well

This kit looks like exact one I bought from eBay. I ended up returning because the harness they sent me was wrong they claimed they now have correct harness with type B connector which is correct connector for my car. When you buy from Aliexpress make sure it’s the correct one.

This Chinese one seems better because it has wireless functionality.. I think beats sonic and 4x4 order these parts from these Chinese resellers and then jack up the price by $100-200.. I guess the only good thing is that they have support? I did notice beat sonic said if there are updates to their system, they can send you the files but still..

Man Lexus would make so much money off us if they came up with their own solution and sold an upgrade to their current owners.....

 

Right? Or even an up charge to update the software to whats on the 19' models that come standard with carplay.
