2015 IS 250 Transmission Fluid Change and Rear Differential Fluid Change when to do?

To clarify the above two statements...one if for the front diff. and the other for the rear. Realizing that many have the RWD drive only, obviously the front diff. oil wouldn't be needed.
The Toyota 75W85 LT fluid is fully synthetic...even though it doesn't explicitly state that.
The front diff. fluid is not as far as I know.

@Flash5 It's the same specs for ALL 3IS models. However, if you have a 350 with the Limited Slip diff. in the rear then the fluid is 75W85 "LX", not "LT". LX fluid is basically LT fluid with a friction modifier added for the LSD.

Got it, thanks for the info! I'll probably just go with the oem Toyota gear oil. I just gotta source it here in Germany. The local Toyota dealership I'm sure can sell it to me.

Mobil 1 gear oil is 10$ less a quart where I am vs the Toyota gear oil..would you switch under those circumstances?

One of the best diff lubes is Amsoil. Synthetic oil gels less with age, so running 75w90 is a perfect replacement. But it is pricey. I just paid $18/Qt.
the cleanest and fastest way to refill the diff is with a 1/2” tube and funnel.

Decided to DIY change the transmission fluid when it comes due and it seemed important to have the AT at the correct temp. Found this app that has the ATF pan temperature, which might help some. Also, just a quick question, I change my engine oil myself but would be attempting to change the ATF and Rear Diff oil for the first time. Are both of those easier or harder than changing of EO? Thanks.

Do everything with an independent. Diff fluid change is easier and faster than an oil change... get the fluid and washers yourself and have a mechanic do it for what shouldn’t be more than $25 in labor.
Transmission same thing. Get the the washers for the bolts and fluid yourself, have a qualified independent mechanic do the job. It’s only about an hour of work.
Sasnuke has posted the factory procedure for the job, let me know if you’d like it.

Anybody in MD have an independent Lexus guy/shop they can recommend? Please DM me - I don't want to distract from the main topic here. Thanks in advance.
