Default Oil choice!

I am not sure if there is a thread for 3IS on oil used by owners, so I hope to start one.

I use Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 with OEM filters

Thanks for sharing guys!

Previously:
- Lexus 5w-40 oil.

Is that the recommended oil viscosity for the IS in Singapore? That’s quite different from the 0W-20 that the owners manual recommends here in the US as well as in Europe.

Lexus/Toyota 0w-20 and OEM filter over here.

Maybe if I start doing the oil change myself I may switch to another oil, but I'll always use OEM filters.

Mobil 1 0w-20 AFE and OEM filter on my last oil change.

Switching to Amsoil Sig Series 0w-20 and Wix filter, for the next 2 changes, hopefully I see better results than Mobil 1 AFE.

yes, that was the recommended oil in 2013. I think they may have moved thinner since.

I bought 7L of Toyota 0W-20 and an OEM filter (and drain plug washer) for my first oil change, which I'll do at 5000 km. I was recommended ENEOS 0W-20, which is made by Nippon oil, but I had read this analysis of the Toyota stuff.

Well to give my oil choice, I use Mobil-1 Extended Performance 0W-20 and the Mobil-1 Extended Performance oil filter. I just changed it my oil and filter 2 months ago. I used this same oil on my G37S and it worked pretty well. I also used the OEM Toyota drain plug washer, I have a bag of them.

For my 2019 IS350 AWD F-Sport (2GR-FKS engine), it was 90430-12031. It looks like a washer with a blue coating on one side.

I put in that part # on the part site and it said it does not fit . I mean its just a washer it should fit right lol. If anyone knows the part # for a 2014 is350 (2GR-FSE) please let me know otherwise i would have to go to the parts department.

Above post is the right part number. Got a handful of this, though now I have the Valvomax oil drain valve installed on the IS300.

Lexus Part No.: 90430-12031

Sometimes you have to take those parts sites with a grain of salt...90430-12031 is the correct part number.
