It will be very difficult to anticipate what toyota will be doing. One thing sure, we will have the 2.5 Inline four on the hybrid, and this car will be the first built on the new Lexus platform.

We know, from different channels, that no ISF is meant to see the day of light. RCF is now the new V8 avatar. We also know that the car will grow in dimensions, to come in between the actual IS and the GS, probably for replacing the GS in the long run. In my eyes it would be a mistake. But I'm sure they are going to commit exactly this mistake.

I'm pretty sure they will be NO V8 for the IS, whatsoever. The only one I could see would be the 4L V8, that is still in the dev. No chance that he will be ready for this car in 2021. We will probably also have a return of the 3.5L V6 though. Popular engine for this car and high in demand on the american continent. There is a persisting rumour, that Lexus wants an inline 4 to replace the 200T, that didn't had a real success. Rumor speaks about a 2.5 inline 4 Turbo instead... but I'm cautious with this. Peoples wishes are sometimes becoming rumors in the car community. For example, there was an insane rumor with the B58 coming for the new IS, that was debunked since, but it shows how much BS is going on.

Design of the 3IS is absolutely great. Had my problems at the start with it, but it ages well and grew on me.
I really hope for Lexus that the picture of the arabian newspaper was a hoax, because its f-ugly. Really really !

Surely that back end has to be waaaaay off, right? Damn that's ugly.
