Best sounding intake for 3IS? And does it need maintenance?
AEM - https://www.carid.com/2014-lexus-is-...377218735.html
Injen - https://www.carid.com/2014-lexus-is-...377218648.html
Takada - https://www.carid.com/2014-lexus-is-...377218807.html
These are the 3 I found that are compatible with our cars. Another follow up question, does it need to be cleaned? A friend of mine has an intake and he told me he cleans his periodically.

Injen sounds good but any intake will add some sound to the car. I believe all of them have some maintenance involved, Injen is a dry clean meaning unmount, shake off loose dirt and debris and use a vacuum on the outside part of the filter and then mount it back.
K&N uses a recharge kit that wets the filter and then oil it after it dries fully.

Takeda is the best I would say.

Dry filter is easiest to maintain.

They will all sound similar, it is just a pipe and cone filter. Any air filter will need to be cleaned periodically. Of the 3, I would go with AEM or Takeda. Those two retain the factory cool air inlet, are dry filters and have a heat shield to minimize drawing in hot air from the engine bay. They all add sound and not much more though.
