i wonder how accurate that render is. also, those non-f-sport wheels look like a massive improvement over the ones currently used if they are to be the actual wheels that come with the production model.

They're just guessing based on rumors but I think that it's likely pretty accurate. But I doubt those rims are accurate tbh.

Well, i just hope the headunit for this refresh has apple carplay and more importantly, I hope (maybe wishful thinking) the head unit can be retrofitted to my 2016 and I'm contented.

It'll have apple CarPlay like most of their refreshed models now. But hopefully it has Android auto because i believe none of their models have that yet. Time to get with the times

Interesting render from Motor Trend... I like the DRL integrated into the headlight as opposed to being separate.

Somehow I doubt that Lexus would simply graft the front fascia of the UX onto the IS, but I could be wrong. I do like the use of the UX's headlights as well.

I wonder if Lexus listened to my recommendations I posted a while back regarding suspension tuning. I recommended that the rear end be stiffened as there's too much axle movement in the rear (I even took a video of this movement)

They can solidly mount the rear carrier like in other brands like BMW (but they'd have to gain compliance elsewhere) or...they can simply use RC-F bushings which would be way easier and cheaper and accomplish similar. Who knows how small or large this "chassis tweak" will be.

Also it's said Lexus will widen the rear track and rear body overall.

The only parts bin stuff I can think of is the Lexus LC or Lexus LS but i have no idea what parts they're using or if they can even fit an IS chassis. possibly.

Also mentioned is the possibility of an IS500 using the twin turbo V6 from the LS.

Also mentioned is an updated interior that's more upscale. that will be welcomed. the radical interior of the 3IS didn't age well. was welcomed and nice in its day though.

this seems like a Mazda 6 style major update. like not just minor tweaks. The Mazda 6 got real upscale compared to its first iteration. Major changes. but same body.

I still much prefer the interior of the Is over the bland BMW interior. The new gauges on the BmW is garbage.

Agreed. Not a fan of the BMW interiors at all. Imo Mercedes probably has the best looking interior in it's class, but yeah the IS interior is also better.

Was quite disappointed with the German interiors, especially Mercedes. With all the fake chrome plastic and big ugly vents, the Mercedes looks like my friend's Mazda 3 inside.

The IS interior is great. Akin to a sports car with encapsulated seating, angled console, and good placement for the infotainment screen. Not to mention the materials and finish are top-notch, as per Lexus standards.

I've had a Mazda. I love the IS and I like the IS interior, but the dash with the soft touch mold injected plastic kinda reminds me of my old Mazda tbh. I love the layout and most of the materials, but the the cup holder placement and some of the materials are disappointing imo. I really hope there is less plastic in the next iteration of the IS and more soft touch material.

On the IS the Cup Holders Location is whack esp while driving - don't think ANY cars have this design/placement. I'm 5'10" but shorter people like my gf moving their seats forward have to reach wayyy backwards for their cup!! On other Lexus, and almost all cars for that matter, you can just reach down and grab your drink.

to me the best placement for cup holders is behind the shifter where the IS has their seat warmer settings (like in most Audi's). I hope those settings are eventually placed in the infotainment and that space is used for cup holders.

Despite the stupid mousepad on the IS there's plenty of space running beside/parallel to the shift stick for cupholders which is where they are on the GS.

That's what I was wondering, AND ALSO major changes to the grill, lights, and new air hole/vents look like they got fog lights, not to mention lotsa other stuff, and also WHY Lexus gave this to Motor Trend.

When did the Nike swoosh get integrated layered with the headlights??
