It is kind of backwards compared to the old

The "Dynamic Handiling Package" is a $4,200 option

F SPORT DYNAMIC HANDLING PACKAGE

ADD
  • DRIVE MODE SELECT WITH ECO, NORMAL, SPORT S, SPORT S+ AND CUSTOM MODES
  • F SPORT HEATED ASH WOOD STEERING WHEEL
  • F SPORT–TUNED ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION
  • F SPORT 19-INCH SPLIT-SEVEN-SPOKE FORGED ALLOY MATTE BLACK BBS®[8] WHEELS
  • CARBON FIBER REAR SPOILER
  • TORSEN®[9] LIMITED-SLIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL
  • ASH INTERIOR TRIM
  • SMARTACCESS[10][11] CARD KEY

One can probably buy just the Black Wheels but I'm sure they'll be pricey as a stand alone option or available accessory wheel.

Well the guy makes several assumptions that aren't true. Many turbo powertrains are very reliable. Go look at Subaru and the BMW 2/3L. It's the other crap in BMW that tends to break. Also, Doug wasn't wrong in that the powertrain is kinda old and inefficient. Doug was wrong to compare it to the M340 which is a price tier up. He should compare it to the 330 which is priced similarly. I don't think the complaint is that the 3.5L exists from Lexus enthusiasts...it's the fact that they don't have an engine class above the 350.

We can nitpick about Doug all day but the reality is, a casual enthusiast will probably look at the car like Doug and may not be that interested in the 350. For the other 90% who aren't enthusiasts and like the looks of the car, they will get the 300. Lexus probably made the right decision financially as sedans are dying so why invest. The general criticism should be is why they don't update their powertrains across their entire lineup.

Edit: I would get the Is350 over the 330 anyway. Peaky 2L turbos aren't my cup of tea.

I really like the wheels on the F sport. I might buy a set for my older F sport model

This looks so amazing. Lexus should have made an option for Shadow line. BMW offers it on the 3 series for only $300.00. I'd pay Lexus $500.00 to black out the chrome on the side profile. This video shows how nice it can look. They did a good job here, looks like factory. I also like this blue but I wouldn't get it...bit too flashy.

Is this the new Cloudburst Gray?

Did anyone notice on Lexus build it now that they charge extra $425.00 for certain paint colors like Iridium and Cloudburst Gray, however if you choose Atomic Silver they don't charge you any extra. I thought that Atomic Silver was a premium paint like several layers of paint and warranted the extra prem charge but now there not charging for it. I wonder if that's because Atomic is not new anymore?

I'd like to see some photos of how the new IS looks in Atomic Silver, is Atomic more of a gray color or more brown tint?

Glad to see they are keeping Atomic Silver alive. The longer I had my IS in Atomic Silver the more I was glad I ended up in that color. Originally I was looking at a car that was Nebula Gray with Rioja Red seats, but the car sold before I had a chance to get over to the dealership. Lucky me.

What are those really bright red lights on the console where the radio controls are? They look like airbag warning lights? Please tell me those can be turned off? That would be terrible to always be forced to see those glaring red bright lights, especially at night. There 3 of them in a row and there still light when he drives. There is also a bright yellow light to the right that is always on. Is this Atomic or Iridium? I need to see a video of the Atomic in action.

Those are in the 3rd generation as well. They don't stay on

I agree... As a car enthusiast, I can get behind what Doug was saying. However, we are looking at getting my wife an IS350 and she is not a car enthusiast, so I kept having to remind myself "This is not a car for you... it's for your wife." and w/ that, 311 is plenty. Currently, her '08 Acura TL has plenty of power for her and it's a decent amount less and slower than the IS, so what Doug said, in regards to power, won't mean anything to us.
