I haven't looked at them for awhile as I didn't like the model 3 much at all, and then there was some ridicule on them here last year so I guess I adopted some of those opinions.
Of course you have me browsing through tesla site on the performance 3 lol. It actually looks really appealing this time around.
However doesnt fit my needs as of yet, and I think once I go that route I'll never go back and I'm not ready to give up that feel, sound, even smell of a gasoline engine yet.

I would be a prime candidate for an electric vehicle because I don't drive it in the winter and my driving is never long trips, just little circuits in town and going to my favorite hangout. That being said, I am old school and just like a combustion engine for as long as I can....I had a friend drive me in his Tesla 3, great car and all but too me, it wasn't my thing....especially the interior.

I've had the Performance 3 for the last 7 months. It does 0-60 in 3 seconds flat now with the 2 over the air power bumps Tesla released in the last 6 months. It hits the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. I've pretty much laid waste to every BMW that has played with me which makes me smile . They don't try anymore since there are so many Tesla's around they know the outcome. The car was only $55k with incentives so it's about $5k more than the MSRP of my IS350. The one car that completely destroyed me was a Model S Performance. That thing is ridiculous.
I'll never forget the model S that had to "race" me. Even pulling a 3 car length rolling start as if he needed it, I was driving quick sure but wasn't looking for the attention, I know what a model s is of course. He was at least 1/8 mile down the road before I was half way through the intersection lol.

I will most likely buy a Tesla next. But this will be about 4-6 years from now so I guess I will see what electric options are out at that time that have the same performance. I test drove my sister in law’s Model S Performance and man did it change my perspective on fast and torque lol. I loved it, but an electric car didn’t fit my needs and still doesn’t yet.
Same here.. still enjoying this bad boy until i sell my kidney or win the lottery so i can buy the Model S. I liked the 3, but ever since i got inside the S, i didn't want anything else. For now, i'm enjoying every minute of my IS.

^^ Never thought of selling an individual body part to buy my next car?!?! That is clever - I tried the sell "the whole body" as a single package and never got any takers....will revise my strategy!! (LOL)

So this thread has been kinda dead, but I found this while Googling today: https://carbuzz.com/news/exposed-all...xus-until-2024
Apparently the IS' redesign will be out in 2021. No news on whether the fall 2020 refresh is real or not. And I wonder how COVID-19 will affect production and deadlines across the board.
Thoughts?

I'd be surprised if COVID-19 didn't have any effect, though hard to say what apart from possibly pushing the IS's reveal back one show in the usual circuit of major car shows. Sadly that leak says nothing of note about the IS in terms of its new design.

Interesting, not sure what to think anymore....

I read a while back that Lexus was trying to decide whether to dump the GS or the IS. Too many different variations in each, and too much market saturation with sedans. What they need to do is cut down the fluff. There is no need for 4 versions of the IS line and then more fluff with RWD and AWD. I believe they have already ditched the 200t.
