My opinion of best is the Factory Lexus F Sport Upgrade Intake System with TOMS Filter .. but it will remvoe the 'sound generator'. If you like the sound, then get one that keeps the sound generator.

Best performing intake for the 350 is stock.

I dont imagine any of the cone filter options are going to sound all that different.

Personallyy I wanted to keep the stock box in place so I did F sport intake with a cutout hole on the front side of it for sound. Mimics the 2IS intake F-sport intake.

Sounds great, whole car sounds different. With the stock box in place I probably get less hot air but with a metal intake tube...its warmer anyways. Regardless you're not getting any performance gains but you're not losing much on this car either.

If you want to cone filter I'd suggest getting one that at least uses the stock snorkel. I think the Takeda does, maybe others like the AEM.

Did you try it without cutting the hole first, to hear the difference without the sound generator? I'm not even sure what the thing sounds like.

Hopefully you cut the hole in the bottom half of the box?

Yes I did. Even the same size/shape as older gen f-sport intake.

I had a bunch of air filters in my days. I liked the takeda the best. I think I paid like 350 for it. I still got it on my 2016 is350 too. I love the sound when it hits 3000 rpm. The only problem was one of the hoses didn’t stay attacked so I have to buy a clamp from Home Depot that cost like $1 to make sure it stayed attached. But I also had that problem with all the other after market intakes unless it was the f sport one.

do you have any pics or describe how large of a hole you cut

i was think 2.5" since Intake piping is easily found in 2.5 vs. like if i wanted to add my 4" K&N Filter + Intake piping to make a better and real COLD AIR Intake

2.5" wide sounds about right, maybe 4" high. I dont have the IS with me at work today but I'll try to remember to send you a pic tomorrow.
If you find pics of last gen/model intake it looks pretty much like that.
