EVAP Maintenance
Hey Everyone! I was wondering what are the correct and proper steps for EVAP cleaning and maintenance. Searched on the forums and don't really see a guide on how to do it. What are some products that are recommended to use for this as well?

The EVAP system is a sealed system that does not require any maintenance.
If a component malfunctions or the system develops a leak, then repair it.

The best thing you can do is once in a while when refueling have a look at the rubber gasket on the gas cap and make sure it's ok...no rips or tears...and look at the mating surface on the filler neck and make sure it doesn't have any excessive corrosion.

There is only preventative maintenance with evap. DONT overfill and thats about it.
The EVAP system otherwise is sealed as @Sasnuke mentioned, and designed to detect leaks and throw DTCs. They are pita when they malfunction, but usually are covered under warranty for a bit, and will usually fail after 10 years if at all.

In Canada the emissions warranty is 8 years/130K kms...I may be off slightly on the kms, but it's around there.
Just a note...if there is a leak from a loose gas cap it could take up to 3 days before the code trips...so don't discount a loose cap even after filling a few days ago.

I think you mean HVAC...not EVAP.
Also doesn't need maintenance.
Make sure the condenser in front the rad doesn't get filled with bugs, leaves, or anything else.
Also regularly change the cabin filter when dirty.
Those are really the only two things.

Thanks. Less work for me really since I change the cabin filter every year and wash the car regularly.
