Default Help with rear defrost (pics)

When you defrost your rear window on 2016 IS does it look like this ..I would assume no. Just had the rear glass replaced because it was not working at all and now the top part is not working. Lady is like from the pics it looks like it is working. No it is not smh.

I usually wipe the whole rear windshield before I leave, but when I'm driving, I don't see this foggy top part anymore but sort of balanced. When it gets blurry, the whole rear windshield becomes blurry not just a top or bottom part.

It never defrosted on those lines at all. I think the grid up top is bad or damaged on the install.

Looks like it has grid lines up top so theoretically it should defrost unless someone nicked a line. if this is an aftermarket window, i'd be suspect. someone should go test their IS and see if it does this.

what brand is the glass?

It is direct from Lexus dealer, says Lexus on the glass. I will post what they sent me for pics explaining what is what.If someone could test this that parks outside it would be such a great help. thanks!

that diagram does seem to show only the lower part like in your pics that has defrost wires.

now that i remember.. it seems that top part didn't defrost on my 3IS when i had mine. makes sense as you don't really look through that upper part to see cars in back.

My GS is like that. The wires at the top are just the radio antenna.

Thank you for letting me know. I don't even remember my 06 IS doing that.

dang that sucks bro...for a temporary fix...you could try:Rain‑X® Anti-Fog prevents interior fogging before the problem begins.

https://www.rainx.com/product/glass-...ainx-anti-fog/

Product Features

  • Reduces interior fogging and removes smoke residue
  • Fits in glove compartment, door panel or under seat
  • For use on automotive and marine interior glass and mirrors
  • The 12oz and 3.5oz liquid Interior Glass Anti-Fog products also work great on bathroom mirrors!
  • Available in 12oz, 3.5oz and 10-count Glass Cleaner with Anti-Fog wipes, individually sealed for on-the-go convenience.

i actually have a non-used bottle of this stuff because I had a full rear carbon fiber hatch that would fog sometimes...if you cover shipping, you can have it

I just got a real life chance to see how my car works today with regards to this, and the very first line on top does not work. However, the 2nd line up to the bottom works. Not sure if the first one worked before since I don't really pay attention to it.

Judging by what I saw, ALL the lines should be working.

Yeah this is definitely normal. I had to check too even though the diagram was posted, because I've never noticed it to be an issue. Plenty if space cleared to see traffic behind me.
