thx for replying. Why don’t they fit AWD cars?

The cooling vanes make the rotor shape different where the rotor fits over the hub and contacts the bolts that hold the hub to the knuckle.

This is why the RWD can use either rotor but the AWD can only use the one type.

No, with traction/stability control, both rears are effectively driven. It works.

The RWD will most certainly have better handling. I would go with that personally.

MotorTrend tested both and said...

“When it comes to how the car drives, the difference is less obvious. You might expect the AWD would change the handling characteristics, but it isn't noticeable. The steering is no heavier and no less communicative, and there's no hint of torque steer. An advantage of the full-time all-wheel drive system is you'll never feel the front axle connecting and disconnecting, which means it won't upset handling”

I guess the RWD versus AWD argument, in terms of handling, is mostly on-paper. AWD cars weigh more, so they would be lazier, in theory. "In theory" is the key part here. I think it's not a huge difference. For me the RWD car would still be the way to go however. I find it just feels a little more eager both in handling and acceleration.
