I asked this last year but maybe there's more info out there now: has this issue been resolved in the 2021/22 versions? I've read of updates to the suspension & handling for the refreshed model, but no details on what exactly was changed.
There's still not much info yet. I've got about 10,000 miles on my 2021 IS 350 and think the tires look good. There might be just a little bit of inner wear at this point but barely noticeable. I'll be checking on it over time.
As for what was updated, it was a lot of the suspension components, especially in front. They went to fully aluminum control arms in the front as well as pilfering the "swing-valve" dampers from the ES 350. Also, the wider wheels and tires will have some effect on the inner wear - what effect remains to be seen.

I just wanted to say, I am at nearly 14,000 miles on my 2021 IS 350 and have measured the tread depths. I run cold tire pressures according to the door placard (35 front, 36 rear).
I noticed a little bit of uneven wear in the rear tires, specifically in the center of each tire (not the inner edge as you'd see with the fronts). I generally was at 35 or 36 cold, so I could chalk this up to the camber of the rear wheels. The measurements were 6/32" on the outer tread blocks of the rear tires, and 5/32" in the middle.
The front tires looked outstanding. I measured 6/32" all the way across. The innermost edge looked at worst marginally more worn than the outside, but I think it's a notable improvement compared to my 2016.

I had a 2007 and never had any issues with uneven wear. I've been thinking about getting back into an IS 250/350 but after seeing how much of an issue tires are...I think it might be time to give up. I guess this explains why one of the car fax reports on a potential purchase showed several tire replacements at like 10k and 20k. Geez...I'm kind of beside myself...but glad I found out before I got stuck with a car that chews up tires.

If you like the car, don't let the tires stop you. It's honestly not a huge deal all things considered. You will get a lot more miles out of a replacement tire compared to the OE Bridgestone tires - which are known to wear out quickly.

And, just get replacement LCA bushings, and forget about it.
I appreciate the suggestion. I'm strictly stock - if it doesn't work right from the factory then it's not for me....just my preference....much respect to those who like to go after market though.

Fair enough....went and test drove a 2015 - 350....blew my mind....I think I'll try and start with new rubber, and verify that the suspension/wheels are set properly as a condition of purchase. Gotta find the right color scheme tho!
I wanted to give a shout out to the guys at RR Racing. Just got my bushings and rear cambers installed, and my 2015 Lexus IS250 is driving amazing. Thanks for the great service.
Below is the current alignment settings for my IS. Does anyone recommend adjusting my rear cambers? I know the bushing/camber replacements from RR racing will solve the premature inner tire wear, but I'm not sure if I should adjust my alignment as well. The settings below are supposed to be factory specs according to the shop that did the previous alignment.
Installed my Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's back in January of 2021 for $710 from Costco for all four.
27k miles later, I just replaced the fronts. Mindful, the fronts were absolutely destroyed when I replaced them, less than 1/32 tread life imo.
Rears are still holding up well, no exposed metal and about 7/32 left. Should hold up fine for the upcoming winter.
This was also about 85% highway miles, spirited driving more often than not, and an average of 21 mpg give or take depending on how heavy my foot was on the gas.
NY roads take a toll on tires, I also installed the OEM Bushings back in Jan 2021.
Haven't ever done an alignment, maybe I'll get one done now and compare stats in time.
Next up, differential and transmission fluid flush.
