IS vs UX
#2
Yeah? what are you trying to compare / accomplish with this comparison? I don't understand?
The new UX, for one is a crossover vehicle, with a target consumer of a family or people who need more room to carry stuff, while the IS is a compact sport sedan.
Also the new UX is clearly advertised as having 160-180 hp, it's heavier, and it's not designed for speed / power..... and it's a 4 cylinder ... While the IS250 isn't designed for speed/power either but clearly spec'd with a little over 200 horsepower with a v6 and it's lighter.
What is this post trying to be about? Your're comparing apples to oranges.

So you are taking a reliability & Luxury-centric car manufacturer and comparing a 4 cylinder family / cargo / fuel mileage designed vehicle vs a 2 liter sedan and complaining about power?
I'm sorry and don't mean to be offensive but I'm sure you are a young guy and have have a speed racer mentality, but Lexus does make some fast vehicles too even though that is not their primary focus, maybe not the fastest in the market, but they do make fast vehicles, I mean look at the RCF or GSF, those are pretty damn fast!
Not every consumer has speed as their primary focus. The ones that do will purchase a more sporty car, like a GSF, not a family crossover 4 cylinder. The consumer who is interested in a 4 cylinder crossover typically has two main things they are after. Cargo space and fuel economy.
A 2 liter NA V6 engine vs a 4 cylinder family vehicle from any manufacturer is going to be slow .....using them as your examples of a brand being slow is just plain silly. I'm sorry, this post is kind of ridiculous.
And lets say for sake of argument Lexus does have the slowest vehicles (which I do not believe to be the case, but lets go with it) with a Lexus you are getting nice luxury and Toyota reliability. Which has value.

Competes?! Who is trying to race with a 4 cylinder crossover vehicle that is designed for cargo space and fuel economy?! It's literally designed for the exact opposite purpose you are basing this "competition" on. It's competing for luxury, price, fuel economy, caro space, ect.

When I bout my cpo Hyundai Tucson a few months back the dealer was like "I'm gonna put this in Sport mode for your test drive...". I switched to normal and said something like, I pretty much know what to expect from a 2.0 NA in this little CUV, I'm not looking for sporty driving. I understand what Sport mode does though.

No clue why the RAV4, especially the previous gen even has sport mode.

Lexus will always be the reliable slow luxury make. Even their F cars are kinda meh in terms of speed. At least their handling is pretty good and nothing breaks. The other luxury guys make faaaaaaar faster cars so you should look at those if you want speed.
