I’ve been running amsoil signature series fuel efficient ATF for around 40,000km. Shifts *slightly* smoother than Toyota WS & is suppose to overall be a superior fluid in terms of breakdown and handling high temperatures etc.

I went do the ATF flush and decided against it. The exhaust pipe is just inches from the atf warmer. Getting at the 3 bolts posed a bigger challenge than I wanted to deal with. I would need to remove the cross brace supporting the exhaust. I ended up doing just another drain and fill.
maybe next year I will be more motivated. 😂

Maybe you should read that entire post about the ATF Warmer...perhaps the "After Warm-up section"

So to clarify. Removing the “warmer” will expose two ATF ports. Im not sure if they are threaded or smooth, but in either case, a hose can be pressed into the opening. The back pressure will be nill because the hose is not restrictive, and flow rate slow. I have done this on many vehicles already. Is300, fj cruiser, sienna, etc. the unknown is what is under the warmer. So the process is to remove the 3 bolts and let the warmer hang free. Figure out which hole is the outlet by momentarily starting the engine and see which flows out. No special plate or attachment is required. Without knowing how restrictive the return port is, I would Still use the drivers side fill port to add atf, and purge 2qts, fill 2qts repeat until 10qts have been removed. I would never connect to a flush machine. Thats a bad idea. No, simply allow the internal fluid pump to expel the atf while feeding new fluid into the trans pan, undiluted with dirty fluid. Do it stone cold so the exhaust Isnt red hot. The routine only takes about 30 sec per 2qts, so 6 minutes run time. it could get messy, but if done correctly, minimally. Then raise the temp to finalize the fluid level.
if I find the ports are threaded, I might just plan a separate cooler install.
