Not worth spending any more than 50$ on that minor cosmetic flaw. Does not affect how car drives.

I take it you did not see the pic... and missed the part about the lease being due.

Went to Maaco and they gave a quote for after market bumper replacement for $1050 and the AutoNation Collision Center of South Bay gave an OEM bumper replacement quote for $1250; just for sanity went with OEM one, given that the car was purchased from a Autonation dealer, shouldn't be any surprises. I hope some curse falls on the guy who dropped his/her garbage on the freeway.

Damn that blows. It really does suck when damage happens to your car that is 100% not your fault. It’s always a terrible day when I find damage from driving and people kicking up rocks or something.

Kept the car spotless for 3 years, with minor scratches which were already removed by buffing, was expecting just front brakes to be done, it still got 3K undriven miles left. It sucks to spend that kinda money at this time.

This EXACT thing happened to me in the same spot but with a large construction cone (more round and wider) type thing. $700 is all Lexus charged me on my final bill.

Keep in mind, they also had to replace two tires and repaint one wheel.

Sorry. Dumb point, maybe way off.
If you have insurance, hitting road debris is covered under
comprehensive. Is there a deductible for comprehensive?
Not your fault.

bro, go into a diff maaco and tell them you want the cheapest solution. i just went on ebay, bumper for this car is like $200.. if you can find the grey one, a bit more.. or try to find something paint matched.. OR order it and have them install it and pay for the install labor / paint if you need it painted. shouldn't cost more than $500.. i just had part of my rear bumper all the way to my front door repainted due to a ding + damage to rear bumper for $800 at maaco.

Not true. I thought the same thing until it happened to me. I was driving from Phoenix to L.A. in January and hit some road debris in the dark on I-10. My ins co (USAA) classified it as a collision even though I wasn't involved in a accident. I argued with them on this. Collision deductible $1000, comprehensive deductible $150. So it all depends on his ins carrier and his plan. Total bill, almost $1500.
