I have a couple of questions and would GREATLY appreciate any insight before I tear things down in my 2017 IS300 - 10.25" Screen - Joystick Control

1) In this picture they have the OLD CAR NO SPLIT DISPLAY plugged into the CAN CONTROL and the NEW CAR SPLIT DISPLAY plugged into the loopback - I am assuming I need to swap these so the NEW CAR is plugged into the CAN CONTROL, is that correct?

Picture 1

2) The unit comes with a USB FEMALE cable and 2 Yellow Vid Female Ends - the other side of the cable plugs into the device itself . QUESTION: Is this USB FEMALL END where I will plug in my Apple Lightning Cable if I use the Wired option? I think so but want to confirm ALSO what are the two video female cables for? Extras? I'm guessing so....

Device

3) Finally, Do I need the external Mic for the Apple Car Play or would the OEM Mic pick that up?

Wireless Mic

I'm pretty sure that I know the answers but I want to double/triple check with you all here - I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate all the help here!

Cheers!

James
1) For now install the main harness to see if it works, if not swap these connectors.
2) Yes, you need to use this USB connector for wired Carplay you cannot use existing lexus USB ports. You should buy a USB extender I don't think it's long enough for glove box. You need to plug into USB for future FW upgrade. Ignore yellow cables and 12v power cable you only need them if you want to install aftermarket backup camera.
3) That is wifi antenna for wireless Carplay it's not microphone, the box uses existing Lexus mic for Siri voice control. You need to connect this RF jack to the box in order to use wireless carplay.

This thing is mostly great tbh. Just running in to some annoying issues. Hoping they can help me fix this issue where the rotoray **** stops working on both carplay and factory radio.

Also now my phone won't always automatically connect to car play like half the time. Really getting me annoyed.

They advised me to do a mcu update so I'm going to try that today with their file.

Anyone running any equalizer settings on the AUX or on the device ? Trying to fine tune it where you don't a slight hiss sound when increasing the volume .

I’d go road top since they offer free replacement parts and returns

Pulled the trigger on this road top set. From the instructions, was it at all necessary for those with rotary ****, seven-inch screens to hook up the screen power cable connection? Even though the instructions said to only hook up if screen flashes, just wondering whether this screen flashing is common.

I believe it’s only for the 10.25 screen that you don’t use the screen power plug. The smaller screens need it
