I just got the following info from their engineers.

I'm trying to use this isolate to try to eliminate the alternator whine:
https://www.minidsp.com/products/acc...rrect%20order.

I tried to connecting like the following but still experienced whining noise:

From CarPlay device harness to the DC to DC isolator:
Constant 12V -> 12V IN isolator
Ground -> GROUND IN isolator
ACC 12V -> REM IN isolator (this is to turn on isolator)

From the DC to DC isolator to the CarPlay device plug:
Isolator 12V OUT -> Constant 12V wire on CarPlay device
Isolator GROUND OUT -> GROUND wire on CarPlay device

It seems like the CarPlay device will power on and then turn off.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's exactly what's happening today when I install my Carlinkit.
The wrong cable was in the box.
I ask the seller on Aliexpress today but no answer for now.
It's a bit frustrating to realise the the installation Is incomplete and I will have the repeat everthing with the good cable.

These Carlinkit boners finally mailed my cable (or at least I got a tracking number)... they're still trying to get me to pay for shipping on it. Not happening.

Car has been sitting since Thursday with everything taken apart. Fortunately it's a third (fourth?) vehicle.

They should send it to you with express shipping free of charge it’s their mistake. Open dispute or use chargeback from credit card.

Just an FYI for those out there suffering from the alternator whine issue with these units. I eventually found a solution. I used an inline noise filter like this one:
filter filter

Connected it between their harness to the CarPlay device. Alternator whine is gone.

The car play is just a USB dongle
Or do you mean Android car screen?

Has anyone else expressed having this issue? I do not see it elsewhere. Do you have other aftermarket stereo items installed as well?

AliExpress Is really good about dealing with complaints very fast. Report they sent you the wrong cable and demand they refund the money or send you the correct cable. PM of you still can't get the cable. I have a seller on AliExpress that actually made me a custom LVDS cable for cheap.

I do not, dash is apart.. been driving the Tundra all week. I am waiting on China.com to send me the correct cable. So, with mine already taken apart (wasn't going to disassemble it twice) it would be a good time to fix any potential alternator whine as well.

Do you have the Mark Levinson audio setup? My main concern with this Chinese Junk is that it will hurt audio quality. I stream Tidal Masters (through USB cord) and it sounds great. Same app through bluetooth setup will sound like garbage, I don't care what the bitrate is; Bluetooth kills audio quality. It's very noticeable on the ML stereo. Alternator whine would be especially troubling, I'd probably just uninstall the whole thing.

I open a dispute with Aliexpress.
The seller contact me and ask me what's the problem.
I send him pictures of what I have and what I needed.
I got à DHL tracking number this morning.
I keep my fingers cross til I got it and t'il I plug it.

Same here! Waiting for the correct cable to come in. I got wrong CAN cable. I also have an NX, 2016, with touchpad.
