I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this for my 2017 IS300

QUESTION: Did you find any vids on the install? I have the instructions from RoadTop but they are completely incoherent at best. Did you have to plug the power cables in for the screen since you have the joystick or is that only for the "**** and trackpad" controls?

I didn't find any videos online so if you know of one, please let me know....thank you!

Cheers!
James

I just followed the beats sonic install video. It will come with an instruction booklet as well. I didn't have to use the display power cables. Not sure what they are used for to be honest, since mine worked fine without them.

No, my joystick worked for a few times but it was controlling both Lexus and Carplay same time but it's completely stopped working now. Carlinkit guy is supposed to send me a new modified cable that should resolve but I'm not that hopeful they're still making the cable at the factory. What yr is your car I think there's some compatibility issue with 2014 cars.

I mounted the unit behind the glove box and same with the wifi antenna. I also ran the usb with an usb extender and tucked it under the center console till it was on the drivers side.

PDF instructions from Road Top is way better than Carlinkit. Road Top shows settings menu and detailed wired connections Carlinkit only comes with wiring guide but then it was very badly written. I should have bought Road Top instead.

I did yes. I followed the instructions in the beatsonic video. It wasn't too bad to remove. Not much space behind the radio and climate controls to mount the device.

I almost went your route but since Nik started the post showing basically the same config as mine, I was like better safe than sorry.
