V8 fans may still have reason to hold out hope, after all.

Perhaps it's the V8, or perhaps it's the twin-turbo V6 from the LS 500 (seeing as how it's the same number)?

So, what are we looking at 2022 before we know what all this means? Lol

V8 or TTV6, either way, it's worth waiting for, surely...

If it doesn't drop by 2022 I don't see it happening.
The 2021 refresh will likely have a shelf life of 4 years...so if the IS500 isn't introduced b year two (2022), then they are not going to make it for only 2 years (2023 and 2024). Financially it doesn't make sense.
If it drops in 2022, they can get 3 years out of it at least. They could even make a 2025 model of just the IS500 while the regular IS morphs into whatever it's next iteration is.

I absolutely am in love with the appearance of the 3is. I’ve got a 350 FSport and while it’s plenty of car for a daily it’s just not the beast I hoped it would be. I would jump on a IS with a V8 or a V6TT in a heartbeat. I can’t even fathom how much more fun and exciting 400+ HP and the torque to match would make this car.

i probably would too depending on MPG which will be lower than V6 and even more so from 4cyl. the "sprinted jaunts" would be worth it
