I've owned a STI, S2000, GTI and now the IS350 AWD. The IS is not for anyone wanting pure speed, it's simply not set up for that. It's setup for reliability and long lasting fun, its for someone who wants to go fast only some of the time with some comfort. You get the IS because you do not want to deal with installing an oil catch can or worrying about your rings cracking... That sort of stuff.

That’s exactly why I bought the IS. My last car was an E92 M3 and I was sick of worrying about the next $1000 repair bill. The IS has the best peace of mind-speed-comfort-looks combo and I love it. 0-60 who cares. You dump all the money into the car to hit your goal and you’ll still get beat by someone.

RR Tune lets me hit 60 right at the top of 2nd gear (can maybe hit 62 mph in 2nd) so there's that. Transmission shifts do get a little weird under normal driving but the tune overall is great. I'd say 99.9% of the time, I don't even remember the tune being there until I go WOT.
ive been debating the RR Tune for a year. I’m in Canada so after conversion, shipping, import fees etc it’s a bit high for 10whp BUT I’ve seen ppl with 3rd gen IS with the 6 speed hitting 67mph at the top of 2nd gear which is cool and must help the 0-60 a touch. I know it’s not a true performance car by any stretch but i think the tune would definitely wake it up a bit which is all I want.

Yeah, I'm about hitting around the 68-ish mph at the end of 2nd gear. My current best 0 to 60 is at about 5.32 and that's with tune, intake, and catback. video here: https://youtu.be/spaSF-jqlMQ

I have a 2015 IS350 and it's stock aside from K&N drop in filter and Kuhmo PS91 tires. I ran a 13.8 @101.5 a few weeks ago at MIR.

I feel with stickier tyres and brake torque it's possible to just dip in the 5s. Just standing on the gas in D I'd say it's close to 5.2 in the rwd 8 speed. Manual mode seems a tad slower
But nothing like the aggressive gearing in the 2is that could do it easily.

The most aggressive brake torqueing will net 5.6s with roll-out. If you just mash the throttle, its about a 6s car...and you'll hit the quarter mile at about 14s flat. Something with first gear is making the car slow...it feels Lexus is somehow managing the torque at the line as it feels weak off the line. I drove my IS350 like I stole it and always felt the first gear was really disappointing...it felt strong on the highway though where you can really take advantage of its powerband above 4k rpm.

Open differential and tall gearing is not ideal for 0-60.

don't tune it.. you'll see people complaining about issues after the tune on the forum. tune only adds a few horsepower and changes redline to 7200 rpm for $500.. risking issues with your vehicle for minimum gains, can't be me. tough to do any performance mods to these cars tbh
