The mount is a wireless charger, so as soon as you snap the phone in, it starts charging automagically. The spot that I chose to mount it in, seems to not block any vision and is out of the way of everything, and also in the line of sight, but mounting locations are a personal choice.

Awesome mount man for sure. The only thing I might be concerned with is it's using a sticky cup, I have one for my radar (which was brand new) and it's fell off so many times

I can tell you with my many years of usage on this, that is not an issue. I have these in each of my cars, and over 4 years (I just looked at my Amazon purchase history), I have had to reattach the suction cup literally 1 or 2 times. The cup is not just suction, but has some sort of sticky stuff on it, that I guess is suppose to reactivate with water, but I have never had to do that. It is so strong, that when they first came out, they had a few negative reviews on Amazon from people that stuck it to their dashboard, and it literally ripped the dash covering off when trying to remove it. They solved that problem by now including a little rubber disk that you glue to your dash, and then suction to that, but why even use the dash when you can use the windshield?

The only issue I have really had, was I put it in a rental car once, and it was a pain in the *** to get it back off the windshield, but luckily it has a little pull tab to help.
