Back In a Lexus
So after 6 long months in a POS Land Rover product, we finally ditched it today and bought a brand new 2021 IS350 F Sport. Ultra White with red interior. We haven't had time to take any pics but I will post some after we do. We had a 2017 RC 200t F Sport and a 2019 NX 300 AWD F Sport. So the new one should have the same Lexus quality we are used to. And it's not a LR! So glad to be out of that thing. Anyway, glad to be back!

Welcome back. What were your issues with the LR?

It had been back to the shop 6 times in 6 months for a multitude of issues. The infotainment system is absolute garbage, and the straw that broke the camels back was yesterday they told us they weren't even going to attempt to fix a weird noise we were hearing because it was the roof rack and roof racks just make noise. Even though it was on it when we bought it and it didn't make any noise until we put some miles on the car.

Congrats! I just bought a 2021 in UBM 2.0 and it's a huge upgrade from what I used to have (Dodge Dart lol). I was going to look at Land Rovers but I'm glad I didn't. Originally I was planning to get a GX but I test drove one and it was nice but felt like too much of a boat compared to the sedans I'm used to driving. This is the first luxury car I've owned and it's incredible. The build quality and effort that went into the design just blows everything else I've driven out of the water. The ML audio is also a dream to listen to.
I was a little bit peeved that Lexus announced the IS500 a day after I bought the car , but I think the 350 has enough power for me and the AWD should do well in the snow without having to worry about winter tires here. I guess we'll see. I might still check out the IS500 when it hits the dealership.

When I saw the 2021 in USB Mica, I thought, "that color looks best!", then I saw the nebula gray, i thought "Hey, this looks best", now I see UW, I think "UW looks best!"...lol.... I think it's the headlights.. it makes the car look very sleek... especially from the side..

Thanks guys! The UW actually wasn't my first choice, Atomic Silver was. But this is the only one they had on the lot. Ultimately I am happy with the UW and Red!

Honestly, the 3.5L V6 is more than enough for the street, sometimes it even feels a bit too much given how slow everyone is at getting off the line at the stop light (and the ridiculously low speed limits on some streets). Get it over 3.5k and floor it in 1st or 2nd, it'll get going pretty good.
However, like you, I am also thinking of looking closely at the IS500. The 2UR-GSE is just that special of an engine, and it's even in a compact sedan with folding rear seats (something the IS-F didn't have). Good winter tires will let the IS500 be passable in winter, but the problem I would have is resisting the temptation to floor the gas pedal when it is not ideal to do so. I don't want to replace winter tires every year, plus you pretty much have to wait until the roads are dry before you can really go for it with complete confidence.
I love ultra white with the black accents and tints. Then you open it up and you get the red interior greeting you.
Which LR was it btw? Evoque?

Congrats! It looks very premium in Ultra White. I would have taken back the LR as well after that many issues.
