Hey! I have a 2014 Lexus is, the problem has been going on for a few month's now but before it was manageable, the radio back then would reset once every day and as time went on it did it more often, but it has gone to the point where it just keeps looping and looping every 6 seconds or so, even when it finally resumes working it'll shut off again . I know this has been a problem in the past and i was wondering if there was a way to fix it? or would I have to go to a dealer thanks!

 

You could try disconnecting the car battery for at least 10 minutes, then reconnecting and see how it is.

One of three things will happen:

1. It will stop constantly rebooting and function normally (low chance of this happening)
2. You will have a blank black screen and that's it (high probability of this happening)
3. It will continue doing the same thing (likely won't happen)

Since Vegas odds are on #2 above, you will be looking at replacing the radio.

 

This is outrageous! I read regularly on the forum of someone having this issue. It seems a class action lawsuit or some action is in order since Lexus
isn't doing free replacements for this. I don't have a 250, but I feel bad for all those folks who have had to replace the unit, and those
who will have to at some point.

 

I wonder what the true number of radios this affects/affected.

My radio was replaced under warranty in 2014 (purchased 11/13).

I also wonder if the original owner(s) just ignored the issue for years, or if the issue is just now showing up after all of these years.

 

Same thing happened to me . I ended up with situation #2 . Black screen and no radio . My wife bought me some sick Beats ear pods and I did that for the last 18 months , also , I can take hands-free phone calls this way .
Going to try fixing it myself , now that I'm retired . Of course Lexus won't/can't fix it for less than 1500 $ .

2014 IS250 AWD nav , non ML stereo .

 

Knock on wood mine is still working 2014 also.

 

I have a Lexus garage, I almost replaced 10 radios this year for Lexus IS 2014-2016

 

Holy crap!! That's ridiculous!! I didn't know it affected 16 models. Hadn't heard this year being an issue.

 

To be fair, between 2014 and 2016 it may not be easy to tell at a glance which year I'm looking at. So you could lump them together (should you? Maybe not. ).

I traded in my 15 is250 in for fear of this bull****.

 

The original owner likely never saw the issue. I had a 2014 and did not have this issue during my lease. I turned it in and got a 2016 and around then, people started reporting the radio reboot issue in the 2014s. If the original owner leased it or only kept it 2-3 years regardless, the issue probably never came up.

 

2014 IS250 FSport Radio Out have been told it’s the motherboard for radio by a repair center in Burnsville Mn
first the USB went out then gps started flashing on and off then Bluetooth Spent 8 hours at Lexus dealer in STL Mo.while they tried to figure it out my blue tooth gps usb and radio all out after their hours of work now have nothing they came out and said you need a new radio receiver found the internal antenna laying in my floor and now have a terrible rattle in my dash
the prices are nuts for these radio receivers mine had gracenote and the model number they gave me is wrong can anyone help? I have no functions

 

I have a Lexus GX 460 and the radio keeps rebooting as well. I was given 3 options.

#1, buy a new radio for $7000
#2, purchase a refurbished radio for $5000
#3, take my radio out of my car (which makes it not road compliant), take a loaner for 4 weeks and they will send out the radio to a third party for repair. Lexus will not warranty this option. Cost $1800.

All those options were given to me without Lexus ever looking at the car to see if it could have been another issue. They know this problem exists and they are passing the cost on to the consumer. Disgusting.

 

look up this place on eBay, I have a2014 is 250 with cycling on off. Sent it in to this guy, came back in a week working like new. These units are hard to find used and a reman from Lexus is $2500. Also, this guy gives a1 year warranty.
