Just my personal opinion, not a fan of how the end of the skirt ramps up about midway of the bottom of the rear door to the wheel well.
I can appreciate it's trying to mimic the ramp on the side of the front lip, but it still looks odd.
Having said that, I don't have an answer as to what would look better...just that I know it's not that.
Maybe have the end of the skirt mimic the end of the rocker above it? At least it would flow with the body lines.

Cosmetic surgeon once told me that if a patient comes who is 8-9/10 in appearance, they discourage them from trying to perfect their looks, it rarely creates that significant of an improvement. I think a lot of the "appearance" mods on our cars add little to no value, or decrease their curb appeal. A good example is ugly/ricer wheels or wheels that look almost identical to OEM that cost hundreds.
These skirts are in that categry.

The exact thought I had before i read the comments was for the rear part where it meets the wheel. it doesn't flow. it's just an abrupt corner that angles differently.
Also what's the flat black part? is that rubber? bare plastic? gloss painted? would need to see up close photos.
Sort of thinking less is more here. Why does this car need a side skirt? I don't really see that this skirt here is addressing any defecit of the original design. If you are able to complment, it should be done well.
The skirt here just doesn't flow well. I think it needs more subtlety. Side view perhaps?

Your statement doesn't hold up, simple fact that we're talking about cars not people-- proof being that a lot of manufacturers are starting (if not already put) lip kits on their cars such as BMW, Honda, and others.

I think the black part is just a natural shadow created by the gap between the rocker and the skirt...I don't think there is anything in the space...if you look at the first photo closely, and stare at the gap you are basically looking under the vehicle.

Stock side skirt looks better IMO. I agree with Sasnuke's observations and opinions though.

I think it's the original piece on the side
